Hacklab is proud to be hosting the official launch party for the new Toronto Studio Commons!
“Toronto Studio Commons is a diverse group of independent artist studios, workshops and collaborative spaces, sharing a common goal in promoting artistic and creative expression in our city. Founded by a new generation of artists and entrepreneurs, TSC represents a wide range of operating structures, such as open studios, galleries and/or shared spaces.
Acting as an inclusive platform and forum that supports creativity in any medium, TSC seeks to empower artists and creatives through mentorship and education, providing the right tools, experience and environments for success. With our varied spaces and expertise, we promote collaboration among artists and studios across any form of media to open new avenues of creative expression.”
The launch party will be at hacklab, 1266 Queen Street West #6, on Friday November 20th, from 8-11pm. There will be snacks and reps from each of the various spaces on hand to talk about what they do. VR demo and soldering from hacklab :-)

Would be very interested in joining, however, the open house on Tuesday nights is not possible for me to come by to have a look and introduce myself. I work in Oshawa and drive both ways, I live in Toronto (Noth York) except on the weekends.
Would there be any way to arrange an alternate evening or weekend day/evening to come by.
Thanks
Brad

Hi Brad,
We occasionally have weekend open-houses. You’re one of quite a few people to ask about such things in the last month or so, so I think it’s time to plan another one. Watch our calendar for events:

You’re also welcome to attend public workshops that we hold to get to know people and check the space out. Keep an eye on the calendar for workshops and discussion groups as well. Most are free/PWYC, especially if you just want to come by the space and meet us.
Cheers,
-Nicholas
